Demineralizers (DM)
Deionisers are designed to produce high purity treated water required
by pharmaceutical and electronics industries. A demineralizer removes
total salts from the raw water by an ion exchange process. In this
process the cations are exchanged for hydrogen and the anoins for
hydroxylions to give chemically pure water. Two bed deionisers give
water conductivity less than 10 PPM. mixed bed deionisers are single
column units, filled with strongly acidic cation and strongly basic
anion exchange resins mixed together evenly. These units produce water
of a very high quality confirming to IP specification conductivity less
than 1 u-s/cm.
